Historically, the process of discovering, identifying, and assigning features to lamps has been a manual and time-consuming task for both commercial and residential installers. Fixture activation often entailed high costs, making collaborations with Lutron seem less viable for these installers.
Our aim was to streamline the activation process for field service engineers, reduce costs for contractors, and subsequently increase business for Lutron. We believed that an application prioritizing efficiency through automation and user-friendliness would yield better outcomes for our clients and facilitate smoother interactions with Lutron.
The Ketra Activation app revolutionized the way field service engineers interact with lighting systems. It completely automates the process of pairing lights with a control system, enabling installers to initiate pairing simply by entering the staging area with their device. The user-friendly interface of the app signals the completion of the pairing process by changing the lights' color from blue to green. This innovation not only minimizes incorrect identifications but also cuts down the need for costly on-site labor, allowing multiple installers to work concurrently.
Following the initial launch of this product, field service engineers significantly reduced installation time, which led to a boost in sales for both Ketra retrofit and new construction contracts.
