Feed Improvements

Background.

Users were experiencing slow feed performance and frequent crashes, further exacerbated by an inconsistent UX/UI design. Balancing these necessary improvements with the imperative to maintain ad visibility was a significant challenge. It was essential to ensure that these enhancements did not negatively impact ad impressions or key engagement metrics.

Goals.

We aimed to find data-driven solutions through a series of rapid experiments and iterations. The idea was to simplify content access and consumption on the Feed in order to boost user engagement and drive revenue growth.

Outcome.

This project transformed the top layer of the engagement funnel, with a specific focus on refining the feed experience. The improvements reduce barriers to content discovery, optimize vertical space utilization, and enable smoother navigation between app sections.

We learned that simply reducing spacing was not the solution. Instead, implementing consistent design layouts, establishing a clear content hierarchy, and ensuring adequate spacing for comfortable reading were more effective strategies. These insights led to the development of streamlined card templates, reduction in cognitive load, and removal of unnecessary UI elements.
